Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi announced that he is dating Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen in a social media post, sending netizens into a frenzy.
In a post on Twitter on Thursday evening, Lalit Modi spoke about “new beginning” with Sushmita Sen.
“Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families – not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 – a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon (sic),” Lalit Modi tweeted.
The post created a lot of buzz on social media, with many speculating if the duo are going to get married soon. However, the ex-IPL boss soon clarified that the two are ‘just dating’.
“Just for clarity. Not married – just dating each other. That too will happen one day,” he said.
On his wedding plans with Sushmita Sen, Lalit Modi said “that too will happen”.
Lalit Modi has been in London since 2010 when he left India amid investigations into tax evasion and money-laundering cases.
Sushmita Sen, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1994, made her debut in Bollywood with the 1996 film Dastak. She has starred in films like Biwi No 1, Maine PyaarKyun Kiya, Main Hoon Na and No Problem.
Sushmita Sen has two daughters – Alisah and Renee. The 46-year-old actress was last seen in the web series Aarya 2.
