In 2019, a horric rape case was witnessed in Hyderabad which shook everyone’s heart. A young 26 year old veterinary doctor was kidnapped, gangraped and later burnt alive by 4 men on the outskirts of the city. A Delhi based lawyer Gaurav Gulati has filed a case against 38 celebrities from Bollywood, Tollywood and Sports. This list includes famous stars including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rakul Preet, Ravi Teja, Yami Gautam, Zareen Khan, Kajal Aggarwal, Hansika Motwani, Dia Mirza, Parineeti Chopra, Harbhajan Singh, Saina Nehwal, Shikhar Dhawan and many more.
The case is filed under the IPC Section 228A in the Delhi based Police Station along with petition filed in Tis Hazari Court for revealing the name of rape victim on social media which was against the court judgment that prohibits anyone from naming a rape victim in public. They have behaved inappropriately by mentioning the name. GauravGulati has requested to take immediate action against the celebrities and also mentioned how the celebrities should set an example for their fans, however they are so irresponsible themselves that they are breaking the laws.
