Australia beat India by four wickets in the first T20 International, to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Cameron Green’s blistering innings coupled with Matthew Wade’s unbeaten 45 off 21 balls helped the Kangaroos to race to victory with four balls to spare. Yuzvendra Chahal comes in to bowl the last over and picks up Tim David on the first ball. Then, Pat Cummins came to the crease and hits a four.
India had a big score to defend but it was the fielding department that didn’t help them. Green, Wade, and Smith, all were dropped once and all three players made some kind of impact. Other than that, poor death-bowling execution kept India at bay. There was a moment at the halfway mark where it felt India will get some momentum but Wade’s brilliant innings didn’t help it. Apart from Axar Patel, everyone leaked runs. All in all, India dearly missed Jasprit Bumrah.
