As PM Modi will visit on August 24 to inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer and Research Centre held at New Chandigarh , Security has been tightened in Chandigarh after getting information about terror attack by the intelligence agencies on Sunday, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit. According to the alert, terrorists might target bus stands in Chandigarh and Mohali as these are the most crowded areas.
With this concern, A special team has been deployed to carry out search operations at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) bus stands in Sector 43 and Sector 17 of Chandigarh. All the suspicious vehicles are being checked by the Chandigarh Police.The police have also deployed several units near bus stands to prevent untoward incidents.
