Emergency is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical historical drama film directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut. Emergency is based on real events which was actually happened in 1975. One of the most influential women in Indian history, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, is featured in the film as the leader of several events. Kangana Ranaut as Indira Gandhi, the former Indian prime minister. Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Shreyas Talpade, and Milind Soman all play significant roles in the movie. The movie was originally slated to open in theaters on November 24, 2023. But will now be released on a new date, which will be announced soon.

Kangana Ranaut made the announcement on Twitter. Kangana wrote, “Dear friends, I have an important announcement to make. Emergency movies is the culmination of my entire life’s learnings and earnings as an artist. Emergency is not just a film for me it’s a test of my worth and character as an individual. Tremendous response that our teaser and other units got from everyone encouraged us all.”
Ranaut also concluded, “My heart is full of gratitude and wherever I go people ask me about Emergency’s release date. We have announced Emergency release date as 24th November 2023 but because of all the changes in my back-to-back releasing films calendar and over packed last quarter of 2024 we have decided to shift Emergency to next year (2024). New release date will be announced soon, please bear with us, your anticipation, curiosity and excitement for the film means a lot. Yours truly Kangana Ranaut”.
The projected movie “Emergency” is focused on the events that took place in India between 1975 and 1977 after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency. The film will shed light on the circumstances leading to the emergency declaration and the subsequent events, illustrating a number of internal political disputes. It is anticipated that the movie will examine the shadowy side of Indian politics in a brutal political drama.
In the teaser, Indira takes a moment to respond positively when the secretary informs her of this, but she then turns to face her secretary and asks him to inform the US President that she is addressed as “Sir” by everyone in her office.
