The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action and drama movie. The movie is directed by Bilal Lashari and produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. Featuring Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and Mahira Khan. The movie was originally released on October 13, 2022. Now, it is going to release in India on October 2, 2024 by Zee Studios.

The Legend of Maula Jatt Plot:

Maula Jatt, an intense prizefighter with a dark background, sets out to exact revenge on his arch-enemy Noori Natt, the most feared fighter in Punjab. The film opens with a brutal attack by the Jeeva Natt tribe on Sardar Jatt’s haveli, where they overpower and kill Jatt and his wife. In the aftermath, a woman named Daani takes in Maula, the couple’s son, who is the only survivor of the massacre. Daani’s biological son, Mooda, introduces Maula to a wrestling coach, who recognizes Maula’s talent and agrees to train him.

On Instagram, Bilal Lashari announced the wonderful news, writing, “Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, 2nd October! Two years in, and still house full on weekends in Pakistan! Now, I can’t wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience the magic of this labor of love!”

No To India Release:

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has been notably outspoken against the film’s release. Their strong opposition highlights concern regarding various aspects of the movie, leading to significant public discourse and debate surrounding its screening. MNS’ Ameya Khopkar said, “We will not entertain any Pakistani film or actors in India. This movie will not be released. If this happens, there will be a strong agitation. This should be taken as a threat… How can one even think of watching movies with Pakistani actors?”
