Renowned actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after suffering a bullet injury to his leg early this morning. The incident occurred around 4:45 AM while the 60-year-old actor was preparing to leave for the airport for a flight to Kolkata. He accidentally shot himself below the knee when his licensed revolver misfired.

In an audio clip recorded from his hospital bed, Govinda thanked his fans for their prayers and blessings, attributing his survival to their support, as well as the help of his parents and guru. “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers,” he said in a raspy voice, expressing his gratitude amidst the challenging circumstances.

According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, the incident occurred when Govinda was placing his revolver in a cupboard, and it accidentally fell to the floor, causing it to discharge. Following the incident, the actor contacted his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata, and his manager for assistance. The police arrived at his residence in Juhu and transported him to Criticare Hospital, where he underwent surgery to have the bullet extracted.

As of now, Govinda’s condition is reported to be stable. He is expected to remain in the hospital for at least two days, with his daughter, Tina, by his side during his recovery.
